How do I place an order?

Browse the collection, add the pieces you love to your cart, and proceed to checkout. You can check out as a guest or sign in — either way you'll get an order confirmation by email and SMS within minutes.

Do I need an account to order?

No. Guest checkout is fully supported. Creating an account simply lets you track orders, save addresses, and keep a wishlist for next time.

Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?

Yes, if it hasn't shipped yet. Email hello@designerlibrary.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number and we'll make the change. Once a piece has been dispatched it can't be modified, but you're still covered by our 30-day return policy.

How will I know my order was confirmed?

You'll receive an order confirmation email and an SMS the moment your payment is successful. You can also see every order under My Account → Orders.

Can I order a piece that's out of stock?

Many of our pieces are made to order. If something shows as out of stock, tap 'Notify me' on the product page and we'll email you the moment it's back. For larger quantities, contact us for a made-to-order timeline.

Do you take custom or bulk orders?

Yes. We offer customisation and corporate gifting for orders of 10 units or more — choose the wood species, finish, and size within our artisans' capabilities. Reach out via the contact page or WhatsApp for a quote; custom pieces typically take 2–3 weeks.

How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery takes 5–7 business days across India. Express delivery (2–3 business days) is available in select cities — you can check availability at checkout by entering your pincode.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free on all orders above ₹999. Below that, standard shipping is a flat ₹99. Express delivery, where available, is ₹199.

When is my order dispatched?

Orders placed before 2pm (Mon–Sat) are usually dispatched the same day from our Saharanpur studio. Orders placed later, or on Sundays and holidays, ship the next business day.

Do you ship across all of India?

Yes — we deliver to 700+ cities and all 29 states through our logistics partners. A small number of remote pincodes may have slightly longer timelines, which we'll flag at checkout.

What if my package arrives damaged?

We pack every piece with care, but if something arrives damaged, photograph it and email returns@designerlibrary.in within 48 hours. We'll arrange a full refund or replacement with no return shipping required.

What is your return policy?

We offer hassle-free returns within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in their original packaging. Pieces damaged in transit are eligible for a full refund or replacement with a photo — no return required.

How do I start a return?

Email returns@designerlibrary.in with your order number and the reason (a photo helps for damage claims). We'll arrange a pickup within 2 business days at no extra cost for damaged or defective items.

When will I get my refund?

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, your refund is initiated within 24 hours. It then takes 5–7 business days to reflect, depending on your bank or payment method.

Is there a charge for returning an item?

Returns for damaged, defective, or incorrect items are completely free. For change-of-mind returns, a flat ₹50 reverse-shipping fee is deducted from your refund.

Can I exchange an item instead of returning it?

Yes. Tell us what you'd like instead when you start your return and we'll ship the replacement as soon as we receive the original. If there's a price difference, we'll adjust it fairly.

No. Every piece is hand-carved, so subtle variations in grain, colour, and texture are natural hallmarks of genuine craftsmanship — not defects. These variations are exactly what make your piece one of a kind.

What types of wood do you use?

We work primarily with sustainably sourced mango wood, sheesham (Indian rosewood), and teak. Each species offers a distinct grain, weight, and warmth that our Saharanpur artisans bring to life.

Are your products handmade?

Yes — every piece is handcrafted by master artisans in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the wood-craft capital of India. No two pieces are ever identical.

How do I care for my wooden décor?

Wipe clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid prolonged direct sunlight. For oil-finished pieces, re-apply a food-safe wood oil every 6–12 months to keep the lustre. Never submerge wooden items in water.

Are your kitchen pieces food-safe?

Pieces marked 'Food-Safe Lacquer' or 'Natural Oil' carry a non-toxic, food-grade finish and are safe for contact with dry foods. We recommend hand-washing with mild soap and not leaving them soaking.

Will the piece look exactly like the photo?

It will be very close, but because each item is handmade from natural wood, the grain pattern and tone will be unique to your piece. Product photos represent the style, finish, and proportions you'll receive.

Is the wood sustainably sourced?

Yes. Our wood comes from responsibly managed sources in northern India, and much of it is reclaimed or harvested from trees at the end of their fruit-bearing life. Sustainability is core to how we work.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking, and popular wallets through Razorpay, our secure payment gateway. Cash on Delivery is also available on eligible orders.

Is it safe to pay on your site?

Absolutely. All payments are processed by Razorpay over an encrypted connection. We never see or store your full card details — they go directly to the PCI-DSS-compliant gateway.

Are prices inclusive of GST?

Yes. All prices shown are in Indian Rupees (₹) and are inclusive of GST. A GST-compliant invoice is generated for every order and emailed to you.

My payment failed but money was deducted — what now?

Don't worry. Failed-payment debits are automatically reversed by your bank within 5–7 business days. If you don't see the reversal, email us with your order attempt details and we'll trace it with Razorpay.

Do you offer Cash on Delivery?

Yes, COD is available on most orders and serviceable pincodes across India. You can select it at checkout if your delivery address is eligible.

Is there an extra fee for COD?

A small COD handling fee may apply on lower-value orders and is shown clearly at checkout before you confirm. Prepaid orders avoid this fee and are eligible for prepaid-only offers.

Why was I asked to verify my COD order?

To prevent fake orders and keep delivery reliable for everyone, we send a one-time OTP by SMS to confirm COD orders. Verifying takes a few seconds and ensures your order ships without delay.

Is there an order-value limit for COD?

COD is available up to a per-order value cap (typically ₹15,000). For higher-value or custom pieces we recommend a prepaid method, which also unlocks faster dispatch.

Can I pay by UPI when the courier arrives?

In many cities, yes — our delivery partners support UPI and card on delivery in addition to cash. Availability depends on the courier serving your pincode.
